Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release, Sikandar, directed by the acclaimed A.R. Murugadoss, generated massive pre-release hype. The trailer showcased intense action, emotional drama, and a fight against corruption, raising expectations sky-high. With Rashmika Mandanna making her Bollywood debut alongside Salman, and Sathyaraj playing the menacing antagonist, fans were eager to see if the movie would live up to the hype.
Storyline (Without Spoilers)
Sikandar follows the story of Sanjay Rajkot, a powerful and respected figure known as “Sikandar”, who stands against corruption in Gujarat. When he takes on Minister Rakesh Pradhan (Sathyaraj) and his corrupt network, he becomes the target of a brutal revenge plot.
Tragedy strikes when Sikandar’s wife, Saisri (Rashmika Mandanna), dies in a bombing incident. Her organs are donated, unknowingly connecting Sikandar to three strangers whose lives depend on her sacrifice. Driven by both grief and duty, Sikandar takes on the responsibility of protecting these individuals from the same corrupt forces that caused his loss.
The plot, packed with action, emotional twists, and political intrigue, showcases Sikandar’s journey as he fights for justice while dealing with his personal demons.
Acting & Performances
Salman Khan delivers a power-packed performance as Sikandar, seamlessly blending action, emotion, and intensity. His powerful presence and emotionally charged moments are the film’s highlight.
Rashmika Mandanna, in her Bollywood debut, impresses with her graceful screen presence and emotive portrayal of Saisri. Although her screen time is limited, she makes a lasting impact.
Sathyaraj, as the menacing Rakesh Pradhan, is brilliant in his negative role. His cold and calculating performance adds depth to the antagonist, making him a formidable villain.
The supporting cast, including Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar, contribute effectively, though their roles feel slightly underdeveloped. Prateik Babbar, as the minister’s son, shines in his brief but impactful role.
Direction & Screenplay
A.R. Murugadoss once again proves his mastery in directing mass-action entertainers. The action sequences are stylishly choreographed, with high-octane fight scenes and slick cinematography.
However, the screenplay feels slightly stretched, especially in the second half. Some emotional subplots slow down the pace, making the film feel longer than its runtime. While the emotional connection works in parts, a tighter script could have elevated the experience further.
Music & Background Score
The film’s background score, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, adds intensity to the action sequences. The theme music for Sikandar is powerful and gives a larger-than-life feel to Salman’s character.
The songs, composed by Pritam, are a mixed bag. The romantic track featuring Salman and Rashmika is melodious but doesn’t leave a lasting impression. The dance number, choreographed by Farah Khan, adds energy and color but feels like an obligatory Bollywood inclusion.
What’s Good & What’s Bad?
✔️ Pros:
- Salman Khan’s charismatic screen presence and action sequences.

Filmywap Flix Rating & Verdict
⭐⭐⭐½☆ (3.5/5)
Sikandar offers a high-octane action experience with a mix of emotional drama and mass appeal. While Salman Khan and Sathyaraj shine in their respective roles, the film’s slightly stretched screenplay and occasional predictability hold it back from being a flawless entertainer.
Verdict: If you’re a Salman Khan fan, this is a must-watch. For others, it’s an action-packed one-time watch with some emotional moments worth experiencing.
